Design experts from across the world have converged on Sheffield to attend 'Undisciplined!' the Design Research Society conference, hosted by Sheffield Hallam University.
More than 200 delegates from as far afield as South America, Japan, Australia, Canada and Singapore are attending the event organised by the Society, which was set up to advance the theory and practice of design.

Professor Chris Rust, head of the Art and Design Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam and chairman of the Society, said: "The vibrant creative culture in Sheffield has a huge part to play in the city's growth and regeneration.

"The University's creative roots can be traced back as far as 1843, but the DRS's recognition of Sheffield as a contemporary creative hub makes evident the city's continuing, creative evolution.'

Previous conferences have been held around the world including Ohio, Japan, Lisbon and Melbourne. The conference will move to Montreal then Bangkok.
