Innovative, multiple award-winning Sheffield firm Gripple could be on the brink of major expansion after clinching a deal with global construction industry tools giant Hilti.
Savile Street East-based Gripple has developed its Gripple Hanger technology so that it can be attached to concrete using Hilti's fastening tools – known to most people as nail guns.
Gripple Hangers are used by construction firms to suspend mechan
ical, electrical and other services from concrete ceilings.
They replace traditional systems using threaded bars which take much longer to install and aren't so easily adjustable.
The tie-up with Hilti means that instead of special anchors needing to be attached to the ceilings for the Hanger system, they can now be secured with a nail, shot into the concrete, construction blocks or steel by one of Hilti's tools.

Gripple founder, Hugh Face said: "Hilti has a world presence that is second to none. They operate in hundreds of countries and have a 50 per cent share of the market."
The system, developed for Hilti by Gripple, has been launched in the UK and is due to be rolled out to Spain in May and France in June. Other launches – including one in the US – will follow, but the early signs are excellent with Hilti distributors in 10 other countries clamouring to be included.
The rapid roll-out has impressed Hilti.
Gripple is now poised to install a new, automatic machine to make the Nail-Fast and Shot-Fast Hangers.
