A MULTI million pound initiative to bridge the funding gap that is holding back the growth of smaller firms across Yorkshire and Humber has completed its first £5 million-worth of investments.
The £90 million Finance Yorkshire initiative was launched just over a year ago and chief executive Alex McWhirter says the investment figures are encouraging, following a delayed start and a great sign for the future.
Finance Yorkshire says the £5 million it has invested has brought in outside investments totaling £16 million.
“We are looking forward to providing more funding for businesses during the rest of the year,” said Mr McWhirter. “As the latest figures show, the investments are crucial to supporting business growth in Yorkshire and Humber.
“This will create a significant boost to the region’s economy.”
Business services firms secured 20 per cent of the Finance Yorkshire investment, followed by manufacturing and industry (18 per cent) and creative and digital (16 per cent).
