FASTER broadband is now available for 14,600 more South Yorkshire homes and businesses – and an improved mobile internet service starts next week.

BT has announced High Green, Silkstone and Thrybergh are to benefit from upgrades, while Orange and T Mobile customers are having their network rebranded ‘EE’ - which is providing new superfast 4G internet in Sheffield from Tuesday.

Sheffield is one of the first cities to offer the service, which has cost £11.8 million to install in the area.

A spokeswoman for EE promised ‘speeds typically five times faster than 3G’.
