CLINTON Woods may have to wait until October until he gets back in the ring.
But the good news is that promoter Dennis Hobson has made formal financial offer to potential opponents and wants to stage the Sheffielder's return in his home city.

Light-heavyweight Woods lost his IBF world crown to Antonio Tarver in the Tampa, USA in April.

The Ridgeway fighter had been hoping to box again in September.
But time is running out and it is now likely to be a month later, incidentally when Tarver will defend the title against IBO holder Chad Dawson.

What do you think? Post your comments below.

Hobson has offered a deal to Kosovo-born Elvir Muriqi, who fights out of New York.

The promoter says: "We have made Muriqi and a French boxer (Rachid Kanfouah) formal offers, but the one we'd like most is Muriqi, who lost a split decision to Tarver last year.

"We have that and a few other balls in the air. But obviously we'd like Clinton's next fight to be in Sheffield."

Hobson said Woods was "ticking over nicely" in his new training base at Hillsborough's Sheffield Boxing Centre.

Meanwhile, Arborthorne's Dwayne Hill has been pulled out of a bout with Warrington's Amir Unsworth planned for tonight in Liverpool.
Instead he is scheduled to box Ingle's Jon Baguley, of Rotherham, at Don Valley Stadium, on September 12, possibly for a Central Area title.
