CURTIS Woodhouse, the ex-Blade who swapped football boots for boxing gloves, has signed a lucrative deal with Hayemaker Promotions - who plan to showcase him during their 10-fight TV deal with Setanta.
The former Sheffield United midfielder was recruited by his Rotherham-based trainer, Dave Coldwell, who has also joined the new enterprise, run by world champion David Haye.
Woodhouse will appear on the first TV bill at Hillsborough on September 20. That in turn will come just nine days after Woodhouse has played football for his current team, Rushden & Diamonds, in the Blue Square Premier league.
Coldwell said: "David loves Curtis; he is a boxer who goes in the ring purely to do a wrecking job. He is a great entertainer and will be quite an attraction for TV viewers."
