SHARON Holford, from Sheffield's Aspire gym - the former Handsworth ABC - won silver at the European Championships in Liverpool.
A points defeat by France's Saliha Ouchen, ranked No 3 in the world, denied her the title.

Trainer Ronny Tucker said: "What a season she has had, ABA champion and now silver medallist in the European Championships.

"I have been running my gym n
ow for 18 years.

"The proudest moment I have ever had in boxing was to see Sharon's smile when she stepped up on the podium to receive her medal."
