BRYAN Robson will be back at Bramall Lane for the first time next month - and hopes the fans will let bygones be bygones.
Robson left Sheffield United in February after being relieved of first team managerial duties by Plc chairman Kevin McCabe.

He will return for the first time on August 7 to play for England against Germany in a Legends charity game, the sides competing for the Derek Dooley Memorial Cup.

Today Robson, 51, told The Star: "I am looking forward to coming back. I still keep in touch with (United director) Terry Robinson and will always wish the club well."

What's the odds on some of our 'fans' showing themselves and the club up and booing Robson the whole game? Pretty high i'd say. Would be nice to think that people would have more respect for Dooley's memory, what with it being his memrorial cup, but somehow I can't see it happening.

However bad a job Robson made of managing the club, it was down to his lack of competence, rather than a deliberate attempt to fail, so although I won't ever be celebrating the bloke's name in connection with the Blades, I will cheer him on as an England player.

Yes lets just hope everyone behaves. Robson did exactly what all of us expected of him! He failed! The fault lies with those that gave him the job. Thank god they woke up eventually.
