SHEFFIELD Wednesday escaped relegation on the last, pulsating day of The Championship courtesy of a 4-1 home win over Norwich City.
The Owls ended up in 16th place in the second flight- six places from the drop zone but only three points clear.
Which meant their Hillsborough victory was absolutely essential to survival.

Burton, two, Sahar, and Clarke scored against the Canaries, who took the lead after nine minutes through Huckerby.
Sheffield United's 3-2 defeat at Southampton means they finished in ninth, four points away from Watford, who occupied the last Play Off spot.

Quinn and Stead found the net for the Blades, but
Saganowski and John, 2, ensured maximum points for the Saints.
Barnsley's 3-0 defeat at Cardiff City meant they finished in 18th.
West Brom are champions while Leicester went down, despite a 0-0 draw at Stoke.

Neil Warnock's Crystal Palace are in the play-offs with Hull Bristol City and Watford.
