SHEFFIELD United captain Chris Morgan could receive the all-clear to face Blackpool this weekend, boss Kevin Blackwell has revealed, despite suffering concussion during Saturday's victory over Queens Park Rangers.
Morgan was diagnosed after being helped from the pitch following a clash with an opposition defender and was kept under observation in hospital as his teammates recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over the wealthiest club in the division.

Football League guidelines state that any player knocked-out is automatically sidelined for the next ten days but Blackwell, United's manager, has refused to dismiss the possibility of the former Barnsley centre-half appearing at Bloomfield Road.

Stressing that any decision on Morgan's involvement will be delayed until he is reassessed by a neuro-surgeon, Blackwell said: "Chris was concussed and he couldn't remember what had happened for about 25 minutes.

"The rules say that anyone who is knocked out cannot be considered for selection so we'll just have to see.

What do you think? Post your comments below.

"The neuro-surgeon might include his black-out as a knock-out and, if that's the case, then obviously we'll be without him.

"We'll just have to wait and see but his safety is paramount to us."
Despite Ugo Ehiogu's commanding display during the rout of Iain Dowie's side, Blackwell would see it as a major disappointment to lose his most uncompromising defender for the trip to Lancashire.

The doubts surrounding Morganmean that Ehiogu is almost certain to be withdrawn from tonight's Pontins League derby at Hillsborough while Blackwell will also be monitoring the progress of Gary Naysm
ith and David Cotterill during tomorrow's round of internationals.

Naysmith is expected to play for Scotland against Northern Ireland at Hampden Park while Cotterill should feature for Wales during their under-21 meeting with Romania at Wrexham.
