SHEFFIELD UNITED'S reserves have the mini-derby bragging rights tonight after a narrow win at Sheffield Wednesday.
First half strikes from Sheffield-born 20-year old Jordan Robertson and former Blackburn and Sunderland forward Jon Stead were enough to seal victory.

Although Wednesday's skilled winger Rocky Lekaj blasted one back, United did not have to do anyt
hing extraordinary to maintain the 2-1 lead through to the final whistle.

Wednesday's second string will be disappointed with the first goal.

It came after three minutes when goalie Richard O'Donnell misread a backpass allowing a simple chance.

Twelve minutes later Stead took a penalty, converting at the second attempt.

Wednesday can at least look with pride at their goal on 66 minutes. Lekaj, such a talent yet frequently a player with no end product, walloped home from 25 yards.

Owls: O'Donnell, Gilbert (Wragg 66), Rocky Lekaj, Lunt, Hadfield, Liversidge, Mohammed (Modest 46), Connelly (Cottingham 79), Tunnard, Boden, Rocky Lekaj

Unused substitutes: Jameson, Hall

Blades: Bennett, Geary, Chanot, Lowton, Quinn (Law 74), Spring, Montgomery, Naughton, Stead, Robertson, Hendrie

Unused substitutes: Annerson, Wedgbury, Tahar, Walker
