ROB HULSE has left Sheffield United's pre-season tour of Hungary, Belgium and Holland to hold talks with Derby County.
United manager Kevin Blackwell granted the striker permission to meet with officials from Pride Park after the two clubs agreed an as yet undisclosed fee.
Hulse, who played 45 minutes of last night's 3-1 victory over KVK Tienen, was linked with a move to United's Championship rivals earlier this summer only for the move to fall through.
The former Leeds and Crewe marksman recently returned to full fitness after suffering a double-leg fracture during a Premier League fixture at Chelseas last year.
"We have agreed a figure with Derby and Rob is travelling to see them as we speak," Blackwell told The Star.
Earlier, Derby boss Paul Jewell wants to bring in three new faces and claims all the deals are close to completion.
He said: "We have made offers for two strikers and a midfield player, we are hoping the deals will happen. We are hoping a deal for the midfielder might be sorted out by the end of the week and one, if not both of the strikers, can get done maybe today or the day after."
Jewell has previously said Hulse would be a terrific signing, but only at the right price.
Derby sources say they expect Crewe-born Hulse, 28, to cost about £2m.
