SHEFFIELDERS are a bit shy and quite stand-offish, according to research by the National Lottery.
Their survey found that if you love a hug, then Sheffield may not be the place for you come Valentine's Day.

Almost a quarter of locals surveyed hang back waiting for others to grab them first in a warm, friendly clinch, while six per cent find hu
gging uncomfortable.

And when it comes to puckering up, some 28 per cent of people are hesitant, waiting to be kissed first.

The preferred method of greeting in Sheffield is a peck on the cheek, said 67 per cent of those surveyed.
