A DAD has been warned he could be arrested for harassment - because of a sign on his South Yorkshire home which reads "12 Crackpot Avenue".
Police visited Michael Beck's house on Jones Avenue, Wombwell, Barnsley, and ordered him to take down the six inch square sign - or face court proceedings.
Michael Beck said he was amazed when officers told him why they had come - and said he had no intention of taking the sign down.
What do you think? Post your comments below. He said: "When I saw them at my door I thought a member of my family had been in an accident. "
It is understood the joke sign had caused offence to neighbours with whom Mr Beck has had disputes in the past.
Sgt Phil Jenkins, of Wombwell Safer Neighbourhood Team, said if the sign caused offence to others it would have to come down. Even on a smaller scale it is still seen as harassment."
