Surgery pair faced court

A SOUTH Yorkshire GP and his receptionist have been in court charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice after the death of a pensioner.
Dr Nigel Palmer, from the Park Grove Surgery, in Barnsley town centre, and senior receptionist Nancy Wainwright appeared before a judge at Sheffield Crown Court. The case was adjourned.

The charges follow an inquest into the death of a confused an
d vulnerable old lady which was halted.

Coroner Chris Dorries stopped the inquest into the death of 82-year-old Eileen Gill who died in a house fire at her home in Park Grove, Barnsley, last September.
