ELSECAR Park near Barnsley has been awarded a coveted Green Flag.
The park, created in the early 1900s, is one of 45 across Yorkshire and the Humber to be given the award - the national standard for quality parks and green spaces.
Winners are judged to be welcoming and well-maintained, with the support and involvement of the local community.
Elsecar Park, next to Elsecar Reservoir, was created to cash in on the popularity of the area as a popular destination for day trippers.
It is a traditional park designed to resemble an earlier Victorian park with streams, flower beds and a band stand and is locally referred to as Elsecar by the Sea.
