A BARNSLEY shopping centre has joined forces with Shopmobility to ensure its customers have easier access to the stores.
The Mall Alhambra is providing new mobility scooters and wheelchairs for use within the centre for people needing extra help getting around the floors.

The Mayor of Barnsley Coun Ken Sanderson was at the official launch of the scheme and toasted the extra services.

General manager Mark Broadhead said it would improve access for those who find it hard to walk around the shops or who would normally need friends and family to accompany them.

Anyone registered with Shopmobility can hire a scooter or wheelchair for a small deposit, refunded when the scooters are returned after a shopping trip.
