What a well presented display at the new Civic complex in Barnsley today.

A walk through time of the mining era of past right up to the new 'Global Warming' strategy to reduce global emissions by the use of clean coal technology of today.

I talked to the Mayor John Parkinson, Fred Clowery councillor and Chris Kitchen N.U.M. Leader and said what a fantastic development we now have in Barnsley close by the public transport network.

Barnsley is now in the Big Time and can compete with any of the surrounding Cities for Theatre, Dance, Music, Comedy and family workshop theatre all under one roof. I cetainly will be paying another visit to the assembly room.

The show did not stop there with street entertainers and the unlocking of the famous Miners Hall up Victoria Road with items on sale in support of sacked miners during the 1984/1985 miners strike is was good to be amongst friends present and past.
