A SOUTH Yorkshire hotel celebrated its expansion with a flying visit from Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Mayor of Rotherham Coun Ann Russell officially opened the final phase of Aston Hall's major expansion with a little help from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance crew.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance - the hotel's chosen charity - landed on the hotel's lawns for a champagne party attended by more than 300 people to celebrate the opening of the West Wing.
Coun Russell said: "The West Wing is a fantastic addition to Aston Hall and I was delighted to be asked to officially open it. The rooms are very luxurious and are beautifully decorated.
"This addition will be a great boost for the local tourism and leisure industry in Rotherham."
Aston Hall general manager Craig Squelch said: "Since February 2005 the hotel has been completely transformed into the luxury hotel it is today.
"With the opening of Darcy House and now the West Wing, the hotel's facilities have been enhanced and look absolutely fantastic."
Built in 1772, Aston Hall stands in 55 acres of land.
