Festival hopes for big crowds

ORGANISERS of a Barnsley festival are hoping for record crowds of around 2,500 people - after last year's event was postponed due to flooding. Darton M-Fest will be staged on Saturday on Darton Longfields from midday to 11pm, and will feature 11 bands and DJs.
Crash blaze
A CAR burst into flames after running out of control and smashing into a post box. The Fiat Panda was being driven along Markfield Drive, Wicker-sley, when the accident occur-red. The driver escaped unhurt before the car
began burning.

Car destroyed

A VW Polo was destroyed after being torched in an arson attack on Ferrars Close, Tinsley. The heat from the blaze caused damage to a Peugeot 406 parked nearby. Firefighters dealt with the blaze.

Skip set alight

A SKIP containing rubbish was set alight outside a house on Moorland Road, Gleadless. Firefighters tackled the blaze.
