FIREFIGHTERS prevented a farm going up in flames when they dealt with a barn blaze in Barnsley last night.
They were called to Coates Farm, on Coates Lane, Oxspring, when a pressure washer developed a fault and set fire to diesel feeding into it from a tank containing 500 litres of fuel.
Firefighters had to block up the tank to prevent any more diesel dripping into the flames. Twelve pigs in the barn survived.
