WINGER Gary Teale is going back to Derby County, having failed to land a long-term agreement to stay at Barnsley.
The 30-year-old former Scotland international's one-month loan at Oakwell has ended and he was due to return to Pride Park today.

Barnsley go into tomorrow's game against Cardiff City at Oakwell with just one win on the board but manager Simon Davey insists confidence is high - and keeper Luke Steele agrees.

After Saturday's 1-0 loss at Blackpool, Steele said: "I think that's probably the best we've played so far. The match before, against Derby, we didn't play well and we won; this time we've played well and we didn't win. That's the cruelty of football but there were a lot of positives. The gaffer has just said that we've done a lot of good things.

"We need to turn it around. It's a tight league and every point is vital. At our ground not many teams come and beat us. It's good in a way that we have a game so soon after Blackpool."

Teale made three appearances for Barnsley during a four-week loan period, including one as a sub in Saturday's loss.

Jamal Cambell-Ryce looks set to make his first appearance in the first-team squad this seaon for the Oakwell club tomorrow having recovered from a dislocated elbow.

Hugo Colace is on course to make his home debut, having played his first game for the club at Bloomfield Road.

Cardiff famously defeated Barnsley 1-0 last term in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Said Steele: "I'll always remember that they denied us an FA Cup Final but at the end of the day tomorrow is just another Championship game.

"I think everyone realises that you can lose two or three on the trot and then win two or three to climb up the table."
