BARNSLEY trio Rob Atkinson, Jacob Butterfield and Kyle Letheren could be let out of Oakwell on loan.
Manager Simon Davey has confirmed that he does not plan to recruit but the younger players may be released temporarily.
Centre back Atkinson was wanted by Grimsby in the summer. Together with midfielder Butterfield and keeper Letheren, he has been on the bench this season for Barnsley.
Barnsley Reserves were beaten 2-1 by Leeds United reserves last night at Oakwell Academy. Leeds' scorers were Ollie Hotchkiss and Ian Westlake. Miguel Mostto scored in the second half for Barnsley.
Barnsley keeper Heinz Muller saved a penalty but could not stop Hotchkiss's defelcted shot. Westlake's goal was a close range header following a freekick. Mostto made the most of a defensive error to pull a goal back.
It was Hugo Colace's first game since signing in the summer after the Argentine midfielder finally received international clearance.
