DARREN Gough has revealed that three counties have shown interest in him extending his career beyond this season.
The Yorkshire skipper, who has said this will be his final season and that he intends retiring in September, revealed last night that he is still a wanted man.
Three counties, which he did not name, are willing to take him on and extend his career.
But he is likely to stick by his decision to end his domestic career with Yorkshire.
He also said he had received an offer to play in the lucrative Indian Premier League recently, but wanted to play out his final season at Yorkshire without interruption.
He did not rule out playing in the IPL next season.
Gough leads Yorkshire into their Twenty20 match against Durham at the Riverside tonight. If Yorkshire win two of their final three group
games, they will be in the last eight.
Meanwhile, Yorkshire's Director of Cricket, Martyn Moxon, says the county will have an interesting decision to make over their priorities as the Twenty20 competition, and its rewards, continue to grow.
He said they needed to balance the importance of building a successful side at the game's shortest version with the desire to be successful in the more traditional, but less lucrative, domestic competitions.
"At some stage we are going to have to say; 'right, where are our priorities?'
"Do we want a successful Twenty20 team that can potentially bring in a couple of million pounds a year or do we want to try and compete on all domestic fronts?"
It was a worry what effect Twenty20 would have on all the other competitions.
