BUDDING writers and poets have the chance to perform their work at the Peace in the Park festival this Saturday, on a stage dedicated to spoken word.
The tent has been organised by the charity Help the Aged in conjunction with spoken word collective Words Aloud. The annual festival, now in its fifth year, is being held at Ponderosa Park in Upperthorpe.

Writers of all ages are welcome to recite their work from a 'soap box'. Tea ladies will provide cream teas to readers and listeners, and live DJs will play music. The tent runs from 12noon until 6pm.

Words Aloud is held monthly at The Lescar pub on Sharrow Vale Road. People can recite their own, or other people's work, and comedy sketches or musical performances.
