Lottery success helps Hofmann's Medal - Hillsborough Primary School

Hillsborough Primary School is 'going to town' (literally!) with a wartime musical called "Hofmann's Medal" written by the present headteacher, Andy Platt with a former colleague.
In order to make it a very memorable occasion for the entire year 6 and some year 5 pupils the show will be performed at The Library Theatre in the centre of Sheffield.
Although it is quite a serious theme it was written with sensitivity but also some humour.
It was the intention to teach something of the reality of war in a non-threatening manner.
Hillsborough School have been awarded an Awards For All, Lottery Grant for local groups (thanks to help from Ivor Jones at Chaucer) to enable some of the costumes to be professionally made and tickets to be sold for only £1.
Hillsborough School is hoping that as many people as possible will be able to make a space in their diary for the shows on Thursday, 31st January or Friday 1st February, commencing 7 pm, and are sure that the performances will be moving, entertaining and memorable.
Andy Platt says "We feel it has been a bold undertaking but already a very valuable experience for our children".
Please telephone the school on 2347898 to reserve tickets.
