SHEFFIELD'S creative young people have been given a unique chance to showcase their talent.
Youngsters were invited to submit creative work at an open event in the city for consideration to be used in a national festival which will tour the UK later this year.
Noise festival is an opportunity for people under 25 to have their creative pr
ojects showcased through the media and is supported by some of the largest media companies in the country.
Noise accepts any work that can be uploaded digitally and BBC Radio Sheffield hosted an Open Centre event giving people without regular access to the internet the chance to submit their work.
Their work will go through a selection process during the summer. Successful candidates will then be given valuable air-time, features, profiles and programmes to show their work and advance their career.
Bradley Phillip, aged 19, from Barnsley was one of the successful artists in 2006. His piece, The Master of Speech, caught the eye of the Curator of Fine Art, Stella Vine and was displayed at Urbis, Manchester and at the Liverpool Biennial Festival.
Noise festival is sponsored by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and Arts Council North West.
Submissions can still be made at
noisefestival.com.
