Midland Players Amateur Dramatic Society is proud to support Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice by giving the charity £3 from every ticket sold for their new production, Alan Ayckbourn's Comic Potential.
Comic Potential is one of the funniest and sharpest of the many plays from the pen of the hugely popular Alan Ayckbourn.

Stuffed full of big laughs, big characters and big ideas, it's a satirical, rom-com thriller with a futuristic love story at
its throbbing heart.

Aspiring young writer Adam longs to write comedy for his uncle's TV company, and falls for beautiful young starlet Jacie.

But the course of true love never did run smooth and, truth to tell, Jacie's not exactly a conventional actress.

This exploration of the nature of comedy, love and how to be a human being is a great night out and with £3 from every ticket going to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Helen Mower, Community Fundraisier for Bluebell Wood said: "We are thrilled that the Midland Players are supporting us through this wonderful production.

"Bluebell Wood is currently providing care to over 80 children and families in their own homes through their Hospice in the Home service.

"We are hoping to open the Hospice for day care during the summer and soon after that begin a phased opening.

"It costs £2.4 million every year to run the Hospice and with less than 5% coming from the Government we rely on the support of members of the community."

The show runs from Wednesday 30th April until Saturday 3rd May at 7:30pm at the University of Sheffield Drama Studio. Tickets can be obtained by calling 0114 236 8414 or emailing tickets@midlandplayers.co.uk.

All tickets are £6.50 of which £3 will go to the charity.

Midland Players began life over 30 years ago as the Midland Bank's staff drama society but is now an open group staging 2 productions each year.
