A HOST of creative talent in Sheffield has received a cash boost in the latest round of Arts Council grants.
Three individuals and three organisations have been given grants of between £1,132 and £20,000 to help their businesses thrive in the creative industry.
Henry Tietzsch-Tyler, an Anglo-German artist based here, received a cheque for £9,741. He will
spend the money living and working for six months as a painter in Berlin, exhibiting the results at the German Embassy in London on his return.
Arts development worker Tony McGovern received an award of £1,132. He will use it to attend a training course, which will help in his work bringing community radio to disabled people in their own homes.
Writer Daniel Blythe will use his £4,410 grant to devote time to the first novel in his Shadow Squad adventure series for children, while music promoters Konimusic have been given a cheque for £4,900 to promote a regional tour of a new Yorkshire-based world music group Rafiki Jazz.
