Andrew Hartley has stepped down as senior partner of Hlw Commercial Lawyers to become a consultant with the firm, which has offices in Sheffield and Leeds.
His place will be taken by current managing partner, Ron Whitlam. Roger Dyson, who heads Hlw's corporate team, becomes managing partner.

Andrew Hartley said: "It is time for me to take more of a back seat in the development of the firm. However, I
shall remain actively involved with the firm as a consultant concentrating on individual client relationships and strategic advice to the partners."

Ron Whitlam said he was delighted to be taking over the reins at a time when the Sheffield business community continued to be active, despite national economic conditions, which meant that the firm was "in great shape and busy."
