Martyn Kemp Opticians, South Yorkshire's largest independent firm of opticians, has promoted its general manager to the position of managing director.
Ron Dolman, aged 55, takes over the role from Martyn Kemp, who becomes chairman of the firm which has ten branches across Sheffield and Rotherham, approaching 100,000 patients and employs 44 staff, many of whom are qualified opticians.

Mr Dolman, who lives in Rotherham, joined the firm eight years ago as general manager.
