David joins Permira in senior role

International private equity firm Permira has appointed David Williams as senior adviser.
Mr Williams spent 25 years at SIG, the Sheffield-based leading supplier of specialist building products and was the firm's chief executive from 2002 until earlier this year.

He was involved in the company's turnaround and subsequent growth.
Durin
g his period as chief executive, SIG made around 50 acquisitions, developed a presence in new continental Euro-pean markets and shed its US operations.

Permira is an international private equity firm, which raises money from pension funds and other institutions and makes long-term investments. The company has teams in Frankfurt, Guernsey, Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, New York, Paris, Silicon Valley, Stockholm and Tokyo and has completed more than 190 private equity transactions since 1985.
