Coutts and Co has appointed Simon Groom, as a private banker within its South Yorkshire team.
Mr Groom joins Coutts after five years as a financial planning manager and private banker for Gerrard in Manchester. Prior to that, he spent 17 years in a variety private banking and consultancy roles in Cheshire and London.

Coutts' senior manager for South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, Mark Yellops, said: "The Coutts Sheffield office first opened in St Paul's Place in November 2006 in response to the growing number of wealthy clients in the area.

South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire is now home to some 11,000 potential clients. We already have over 400 clients within the area but this number is growing and that's why it's vital for us to have a local office with private bankers who are easily accessible."
