ACTION Desk has helped a number of readers this week:
Julie Day, of Rural Lane, Wadsley, Sheffield, has received £705.30 after a mix-up over buildings insurance by Cheltenham and Gloucester building society, dating back to when she bought her flat in 1998.

She'd spent most of this year trying and fai
ling to get her money back.

Servis has promised Mavis Varley, of Wadsley Bridge, a new fridge freezer and Stephen Booth of Barugh Green, Barnsley, a free washing machine repair and compensation after he spent £50 on phone calls.

Betty and Anthony Critchlow have been given a £300 goodwill gesture from British Gas after confusion over the costs of having a new boiler installed.

The couple, of Spinkhill Avenue, Richmond, wrongly believed they qualified for a Warm Front grant but BG let them have a rebate anyway.

The street lights will be going on across the Littledale Estate in Darnall after they failed nearly two weeks ago. Gwen Dean, of Greenwood Crescent said her calls to Yorkshire Electricity and Sheffield Council had fallen on deaf ears.
