IT'S time to party! Pat Beaumont's retirement and 60th birthday bash is back on after readers stepped forward with offers of a venue.
Three people rang after Action Desk told how the Companion's Club in Fir Vale closed leaving Pat all stocked up - after spending £200 on a buffet - but with nowhere to go.

Wendy Key rang up to offer Shiregreen Community Centre and Gerry McDermott
said he had 11 venues to choose from and he'd throw in free room hire.

But in the end Pat went for Malin Bridge Sports and Social Club which was offered half price by Katherine Bloomer.

Pat said: "It's all saved, I'm so happy. I'd gone right through the Yellow Pages, but it was so difficult because I wanted the same day, October 18. It's a great room and they've been really accommodating and all for £30.

"The Star has saved the day."
