IT feels helpful to forward an email that claims to expose a security problem - but who checks whether it is in fact true?
Action Desk, that's who.

A message has been doing the rounds which claims to reveal the risk of fraud linked to hotel key cards.

It is claimed your name, home address, check-in and out dates and even credit card details are scanned into the card - until the next customer comes along.

It claims an employee could take a handful of cards home and, using a scanning device, access the information on a computer - "and go shopping at your expense". It also claims the information is courtesy of the 'Police Service'.
