We will print a list of participating schools on Thursday, May 26…and we will update this as the promotion continues. If your local school isn’t registered, encourage them to do so.
They can register on line now by filling in the form, available here. Please do NOT send any tokens to us at The Star. They must be collected by schools taking part. If your child attends a school, send your tokens with them. Also get family and friends to collect their tokens and send them along. Encourage your local newsagent to get involved with a collection point. Also set up collection points at other public places. Everything you can do to help your school is one more step closer to helping them win the £27,000 mini bus or another top prize. Photocopies or facsimiles of tokens are not allowed and will not be included in a school’s final number of tokens.
How schools enter:For schools to take part, head teachers must register their school - and we are encouraging registrations by Tuesday, May 23. All schools that register by this date will be featured in The Star on Thursday, May 26, which will encourage readers to send their tokens to their local participating school.
The final token will be published on Thursday, June 29. Registrations can be made right up to the deadline for entries, on Thursday, July 7, 2006, at 5pm. Schools won’t be asked to send us their tokens - just count them and inform us of their total. We will then visit winning schools, to make a final count.

Ten top collecting tips for schoolsSCHOOLS wanting to win our top prizes need to get the support of their communities. Here’s our top 10 tips.
1. Ask parents to collect on behalf of the school - they probably already read The Star and Green Un, or know somebody who does.
2. Create a collection point in the most visible part of school and display a poster in the entrance/ school windows.
3. We can supply schools with promotional posters - let us know what you need.
4. Ask the children to create their own token collect posters, to get them even more involved!
5. Adopt a retailer - most retail outlets are really keen to get involved with their local community. We can provide them with posters promoting the fact that they are collecting for your school
6. Don’t forget there will also be tokens in The Green Un - we have 30,000 readers a week. That’s a lot of extra tokens for your school!
7. Keep parents informed and constantly remind them to collect on behalf of the school - don’t let your collection base get token fatigue!
8. Create visuals in school as to the number of tokens collected as you go on - this will be a great incentive for all involved 9. Watch out in The Star for activities by other schools - you could copy them!
