MUM-OF-SEVEN Sonia Blake turned down a champagne weekend after winning at online bingo.
Instead of being pampered on the £500 luxury break in London with husband Steven Sonia, 43, asked if the money could be donated to St Mary's Church, Rawmarsh where Steven is a churchwarden to help buy a cinema screen.
The fund for the screen was £1,000 short and online bingo operators Foxy not only agreed to donate Sonia's £500 prize but another £500 as well.
Sonia said: "The church needed a screen to help during services but also for youth work we are planning in the near future. When Foxy rang to tell me they had organised my break including champagne on the London Eye, a show and a lovely hotel I asked if I could be cheeky and have the money for the church instead.
"I was absolutely thrilled when I heard they were going to give us the full amount. Now we will be able to buy the screen and it should be installed by October."
Vicar the Rev John Birkbeck said: "The £1,000 from Sonia was the finishing touch. Now we can buy the equipment."
