AMONG Derek Dooley tributes is one from a gentleman suggesting a joint song for Derek to be sung at the Sheffield derby match.
I propose this song should be sung to the music of New York, New York, as this was sung by Derek when the Blades won promotion. I have jotted down some lines and wonder what people think. The ones I have written might not be any good, but someone els
e may have some more ideas.

Start spreading the news,
A legend today
Has left this great big city
In such disarray.

He bridged the great gap,
'Tween both city teams,
And showed supporters of them
What loyalty means.

He gave them both dedication,
With no hesitation each day,
So we say thank you Derek,
And God bless you on your way.

Wendy Lindop, Norfolk Park, Sheffield S2.
